Waterville -
Waterville Police have made a third arrest in connection to a pharmacy robbery last month.
Police Chief Joe Massey says 33-year-old Nicholas Hunter is the father of one of the other men charged in the crime.
Massey said Hunter called police the morning of the robbery in an attempt to divert them from the Main Street Rite Aid that was being robbed.
According to police, Hunter claimed that a man armed with a high powered rifle was threatening people on the other side of the city.
Hunter is charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, even though he was nowhere near the pharmacy when it was being held up. "He's charged with the very same crime, Class B felony robbery, because he participated in that robbery by making that phone call," Massey said Thursday.
Also charged in the robbery are Hunter's son, 19-year-old Carl Hunter and 34-year-old Lance Vaschon both of Waterville.
All three men are currently in the Kennebec County jail.
