Bangor Raceway Hosts Breeders Stakes Consolation Finals

3

Bangor - The Maine Breeders Association will hold its championship races Sunday in Scarborough. The top eight fillies and colts will compete this weekend. But for the first time this year, the next eight had their chance to be featured.

The Maine Breeders Stakes Consolation Finals were held last night at Bangor Raceway, giving eight other fillies and colts the spotlight.

President of the association, Jim Kelley, telling us he was pleased with the turnout for the event.

The winning filly last night was Double Nickels, driven by John Nason...his team taking home the 17 thousand dollar purse.

Also winning the same purse was Incitatus, the winner of the colts, driven by Mike Graffam from Falmouth, Maine, who made a late comeback down the stretch. Both drivers spoke to Nick Coit after the race.
