Clinton Man Admits to Vandalizing Waterville Home of Missing Toddler Ayla Reynolds

3

Augusta - A man who told police he smashed windows at the Waterville home of missing toddler Ayla Reynolds because he was frustrated about the girl's disappearance has pleaded guilty to criminal mischief.

The Morning Sentinel, reports that Jeremy Hanson of Clinton was given a 180-day suspended jail sentence, ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and required to pay $627 in restitution Wednesday in Kennebec County Superior Court.

Police say the 20-year-old Hanson went to the home Feb. 3 and used a baseball bat to break windows. He told police he thought Ayla's father knew more about the disappearance than he was letting on.

Ayla was 20-months old when she was reported missing Dec. 17. Police say foul play was involved but no suspects have been identified.
