Man Accused of Pushing Wife Off Camden Cliff Wants Case Dropped

Camden, Rockland - A man accused of pushing his wife off a cliff in Camden to try to kill her is pushing to have his case dropped.

69-year-old Charles Black of Rockland is charged with attempted murder and multiple assaults.

His lawyer argued before a judge in Rockland Wednesday the case should be dismissed, based on what he calls an illegal search warrant for Black's medical records.

He also asked for that evidence to be suppressed if the case continues.

Court documents say Black tried to kill his wife more than year ago on Mount Megunticook, near Maiden Cliff.

He reportedly hit her on the head with a rock, then pushed her over the cliff.

The District Attorney Geoffrey Rushlau says the medical records could help determine what was going on with Black at the time.

Black reportedly told police he'd passed out and hit his wife when he fell.

No word on when the judge will issue a decision.
