Biddeford Pastor Charged with Possessing Child Porn

3

Alfred - A pastor who works in Biddeford has been charged by State Police with possessing child pornography.

Police arrested Pastor James Napier, 60, at his home in Alfred on Saturday.

He is the pastor associated with New Beginnings Christian Mission, which, according to police, ministers to the poor and homeless in downtown Biddeford.

Police say they found more than 100 images of child porn on Napier's computer. Police say the children depicted in the pornography appear to be under the age of 12. " There is no indication that any of the images found on his computer were from Maine," said Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman, Steve McCausland, via a press release.

Napier has been released from jail on bail. His bail conditions call for no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and he is banned from using the internet.

Napier is scheduled to be in court on October 23rd.

Comments

Thankfully Pastor James Napier has been charged and will be kept away from children. Viewing, possessing, distributing, or creating child porn is extremely harmful to kids. The children in the photos are being sexually abused, therefore it is a serious crime.

We hope that anyone who may have knowledge or who may have been harmed by Napier will have the courage to come forward and contact the police.

Also keep in mind your silence only hurts, and by speaking up there is a chance for healing, exposing the truth, and therefore protecting others
