Camden -
At the windjammer Festival in Camden, it's pretty much all about boats. One of the traditions of the weekend is the build a boat competition.
Chair of the Windjammer Festival, Emily Lusher, said "Each team designs their own boat and builds it."
Each team gets the same amount of materials for their creation that they will race around the harbor the next day and this is a competition for all ages.
"We generally get teams of a parent and child," said Lusher
Or, nephew and uncle, like Aidan Darling and David Woods, who have been apart of the event for three years now and are hooked. "To build it in a day and then not have it sink, that's a feat in itself."
Lusher said,"It's fun for the visitors to see this sort of action going on, so we try to keep the whole festival interactive."
For the builders, planning for next year begins right away.
