Bangor -
A Bangor woman accused of stealing more than $56,000 from Healthcare Charities in Bangor recently pleaded not guilty to that crime.
In June, a Penobscot County grand jury indicted 47-year old Laurena Cunningham for theft by unauthorized taking.
Cunningham is free on $1,000 bail.
The investigation into Cunningham began earlier this year when charity officials realized the money was gone.
The District Attorney's Office told TV5 it appeared Cunningham took the money during a span of a year and a half.
She worked at the organization for years and is believed to be the only person involved in the crime.
