Monday is Labor Day, and that's when the Eastern Maine Labor Council will host a celebration and dinner.
The event will have a focus on Maine-grown items.
The Washington County Ukuele Band will perform.
Tere will be special speakers too.
The group's president says this event and holiday is really to focus on the hard work everyone has put in over the past year.
"Labor Day is about celebrating the teachers, the childcare workers, the paper makers, the electricians, who keep out country running. It's also about celebrating that workers work work create wealth."
Eeryone is invited. It starts at 4:30 Monday afternoon at the EMLC solidarity center on Ivers Street in Brewer.
A five dollar donation is recommended. Proceeds go toward the replacement of the center's roof.
