Portland -
Police are investigating after a Portland woman was struck and killed outside her home by a car that then left the scene.
Authorities say 61-year-old Bonnie Bachelder was struck at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
The driver of the car that struck her drove away, but then turned himself into police about 90 minutes later. The 27-year-old Portland man has not been charged.
Police say the driver was given a blood-alcohol test after he turned himself in, which is routine in all fatalities involving cars. Results won't be known for at least two weeks.
The car has been impounded pending the outcome of the investigation.
