No matter the age, there are some things you just never outgrow, and at the Orono Commons Nursing Home, every summer is a chance to feel young again.
"I haven't been to a fair in a long time. Used to go every year, wouldn't miss it, but times changed," said Barbara Turner, a resident at the home.
For nearly a decade, the lot behind the home has transformed into fairgrounds, bringing all the entertainment and food from the good old days to the people who live there.
Organizer, Theresa Garrity, told us, "A lot of them don't even get to come outside much at all, so it's just a good opportunity to be outside in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful day, for sure."
It'll be another year before the next fair rolls in, but it seems it's a tradition no one at Orono Commons will grow tired of waiting for.
"Just a normal country fair, I'd say. Nice one," said a smiling Turner.
