Penobscot Plaza Offers Parking for American Folk Festival Goers

3

Bangor - The American Folk Festival is kicking off this weekend and one storefront plaza is trying to make parking easier.

The Penobscot Plaza will be offering all day parking for the festival for a low price. It cost $5 to park your call there each day.

The money will go to the Curran Homestead Living History Farm and Museum for education.

The plaza has been offering parking for a few years, but they met this year to see where to donate the money. Owner of "Hero's" Sports Grill, Quinn Paradis, said, "We had a small meeting about it and it's something that's been done for the last 3 or 4 years, It's good for the community to give back."

Treasurer of the Curren Homestead Living History Museum and Farm, Irv Marsters, said, "This is probably the nicest cultural event that one community like Bangor can have. Bangor deserves this. It's a wonderful opportunity for all of us to get involved."

Customers who still want to shop in the plaza will be able to park for free. Any one who parks there will also receive a coupon packet for the businesses in the plaza.
