Auburn -
The United Way of Androscoggin County is appealing to the public for donations of schools supplies after theirs were stolen from a collection location.
On monday, someone pretending to be from the organization entered the Big Lots store in Auburn.
Officials say, the person left with several large boxes of supplies intended for the United Way.
The organization hoped to fill 550 backpacks Friday.
Anyone who can donate supplies is asked drop them off at their location at 66 Ash st. in Lewiston.
