Orland -
A charity group in Orland is celebrating 42 years of service to the needy.
The public charity group called H.O.M.E., stands for Homeworkers Organized for More Employment.
The group held an auction Sunday in an effort to raise money. H.O.M.E. provides five shelters, food banks, and clothing to those in need. Raising public awareness on the charity has brought more people out than ever before.
Director of H.O.M.E., Lucy Poulin, said, "I think that all helps to become aware and everyone wants to help to the degree that they can and some people genuinely need what we have."
Local businesses and community members donated to the auction, including gift certificates and even a car. To learn more about how you can help, visit home coop.net.
