A Mount Vernon man authorities say showed a "complete disregard" for Maine hunting rules has pleaded not guilty to a long list of alleged violations.
The Kennebec Journal, reports that Joseph Deleskey pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 16 felony counts charging him with possession of firearm by a prohibited person, as well as almost 40 misdemeanors involving hunting law violations and trespassing.
Authorities say all the offenses occurred between November 2010 and December 2011 in Mount Vernon.
The Maine Warden Service alleges that the 38-year-old Deleskey was involved in illegally killing or wounding more than a dozen deer. He is free on $5,000 bail.
Several of Deleskey's relatives and friends are also charged.
