A Sidney man accused of raping a 4-year-old girl he was babysitting and recording the attack on his cell phone has been formally charged.
22-year-old Eric Bard was indicted by the Kennebec County Grand Jury this week on 21 counts.
He's charged with gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual contact, sexual exploitation of a minor and assault.
Bard was arrested last month after an investigation that started in May.
Police say they allegedly found a memory card at Bard's home with images of abuse.
They say he also admitted posting Craigslist ads saying he was interested in giving young children baths.
Bard is reportedly friends with the mother of the girl he's accused of raping.
Police say they also found child pornography on computers taken from Bard's home.
