Bangor -
There's a new tour making its way around Maine and it's starring some furry felines.
The Bangor Humane Society has kicked off its "Cat's on Tour" as part the ASPCA $100,000 challenge. The "tour van" has been newly decorated and is ready to hit the streets.
Once a week, the Humane Society will travel by van to a new business location to give cats up for adoption. Cat's older than 7 months are free through October 31st. They say all you need is photo ID and a carrier.
On Saturday, the van will be traveling to the Kahbang Festival and they plan to make the adoption process as smooth as possible. A Spokeswoman for the Humane Society said, "We also know a lot of people will be at the festival, so if you want to adopt your cat, we are prepared to take the cat back and you can pick it up on Monday. At least you can meet your new furry friend, make the adoption official and if you can't take they home right this second, you can take it on Monday."
The Human Society's goal is to adopt over 1,200 cats and dogs by the end of the October. They plan to travel with the van and cats to over 200 business to make adoption more convenient.
