Bangor -
Beer and a couple of bands helped to kickoff KahBang Thursday evening.
Festival organizers decided to host a brew fest to get everyone ready for the official start of the festival Friday.
The event in Pickering Square featured over a dozen local micro brews, as well as some food and live music.
Chris Rudolph, KahBang's Director of Community Outreach, says, "I mean this went off better than we could have ever imagined. You know, it really is a testament to how we've grown as an organization and as a festival. We were kind of the little guy for awhile and now we're considered New England's festival."
KahBang kicks off Friday on the Bangor Waterfront.
