Three Vehicle Accident in Corinna

3

Corinna - A lot of commotion Thursday along Rt. 7 in Corinna where three vehicles collided.

It happened around noon.

Police say a station wagon heading south crossed into oncoming traffic.

Police say the driver of an SUV towing a camper swerved to the right which prevented a head-on collision, but it was still struck by the car, which then hit another car going in the opposite direction.

The driver of the station wagon was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center with non-life threatening injures.

The other people involved suffered only minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.

"Speed doesn't appear to be a factor, but we're still early on in the stages of trying to determine why the operator of the station wagon was over the center line. We haven't been able to determine that," said State Tropper Trevor Snow.

The Dexter Police Department and Corinna Fire Department were on scene.

Part of the Dexter Road was closed for about an hour-and-a-half.
