Bangor -
The Joshua Chamberlain Bridge will be repainted next year.
Wednesday, officials from the Maine Department of Transportation talked about what that means for drivers.
Only a handful of people showed up at the meeting.
Most were business owners in the Bangor/Brewer area, concerned about what the construction might do to their businesses.
The project will close one lane on the bridge from Brewer to Bangor.
Traffic from Bangor to Brewer will be detoured to I-395 and the Penobscot Bridge.
Maine DOT officials say they want the painting process to be quick and painless for all involved.
MDOT Project Manager, Douglas Coombs, explains, "Overall, the idea is to get in, get the project done, and get out and try not to impact the traveling public as minimally as possible."
The project is slated to start in March and wrap up by November.
