When It Comes To Crime, Bangor Neighborhood Fights Back

3

Bangor - The Bangor Police Department and the West Side Watch held the city's first ever night out against crime event Tuesday.

It was a chance for the community to come together and say they've had enough when it comes to crime in their neighborhood.

The West Side Watch group was formed about a year ago when people in the area noticed an increase in crime and decided to do something about it.

The network of neighbors work together, with police, to create and maintain a safe neighborhood.

Tuesday's event was a chance to get the word out to other communities about how to form their own neighborhood watch.

Bangor's Community Relations Officer, Jason McAmbley, says, "If they live somewhere also in the city, I hope they take it back to their neighborhood and an idea comes from it."

For more information on starting your own neighborhood watch group, you can give Officer McAmbley a call at 947-7384.
