Waterville City Council Looks At Colby Circle For New Police Station

3

Waterville - City officials in Waterville will vote on yet another proposed site for a new police station at the city council meeting Tuesday night.

The city council will vote on whether or not to build the new police station at one of two proposed sites at Colby Circle.

Council members had voted back in February to build the police station across the street from the current location at Head of Falls, but changed their mind after that plan upset some members of the public.

Waterville City manager Mike Roy says the council will vote on the Colby Circle plan Tuesday but the Head of Falls location is still an option. "It's not completely dead. It's a distant second place, although I think a lot of people made it clear they don't like that site," Roy said Monday. "But if something doesn't work out at Colby Circle, we may have to come back and look at Head of Falls again if no other site presents itself."

The meeting begins at 7:00 Tuesday night in the the City Council Chambers in Waterville.
