Bangor -
August 4th was the kick off for the Bangor Humane Society's Mega Adoption event.
The Bangor shelter is participating in ASPCA's $100,000 challenge. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is in it's third year promoting mega adoption events across the nation.
The shelter is waiving adoption fees in order to reach their goal of finding new homes for over 150 pets. Although waiving fees places a financial burden on the shelter, getting pets into new homes is what takes priority.
The shelter has already found new homes for over 100 pets, and will continue these mega adoption events through the end of October.
