Recovery Homes Succeed in Portland; Now Coming to Bangor

Bangor - Drug and alcohol free homes have improved recovery rates in Portland and now the company wants to bring those homes to Bangor.

Oxford House is a place for recovering drug users and alcoholics to come to get back into their community.

The houses do have a set of rules, but are mostly ran by the people living inside the homes.

Portland currently has seven houses in the area, four for women and three for men. Residents of the homes follow a 12 step program and go to weekly meetings.

House officials say they have a 80 percent success rate for recovery in portland. They hope to bring homes to bangor, brunswick and saco in the upcoming months...

I would like a copy of the full interview sent to me. All I can find is the small clip online and it does not have the interviews.

Thank you,
