Update: Man in Stable Condition after Boat Explosion

Portland - A boat explosion left one man injured Saturday after a butane stove exploded on a charter fishing vessel near Portland.

Coast guard crews say a passenger aboard the charter vessel "Dawg Daze" had been burned in the explosion just before 10 a.m.

Officials say the 35-year old man was taken to Maine Medical Center for second to third degree burns on his arm. As of Sunday morning, he was in stable condition.

A rescue boat with coast guard personnel and three Portland firefighters met up with the charter vessel off the coast of Portland.

The victim's name has not been released.
