Land Use Regulation Commission to Vote on Chairman

Greenville - Maine's Land Use Regulation Commission will vote on the appointment of Nicholas Livesay as executive director during a meeting in Greenville

The commission's vote will take place Friday. If approved, Livesay will head the agency that oversees development in Maine's 10 million-acre Unorganized Territory.

Livesay would be taking over the agency during a period of transition. The Legislature has changed the seven-member Land Use Regulation Commission to a nine-member Land Use Planning Commission, with heavier representation from the counties in its jurisdiction.

Livesay is a Bowdoin College graduate and earned a law degree at the Boston University School of Law in 2004. He is an associate in the Pierce Atwood law firm in Portland, specializing in environmental matters.

Livesay would replace Catherine Carroll, who resigned in January.
