Dover-Foxcroft -
A Disney classic is hitting the stage in Dover-Foxcroft.
It's being put together by someone you might not expect.
It's not typical for a teenager to direct a musical, but then again, Mitchell Chasse isn't your typical 14-year-old.
" Well, I've been in over 20 shows here," said Chasse.
His latest adventure is directing Aladdin Junior.
" He's just fantastic. He knows his stuff that he wants to get down, he'll get it done. All of these awesome costumes he made," said Asia Wohlfeil, a 16-year-old, who is playing the baker in the musical.
" He has assets," added Michael Fagan, a 15-year-old who is playing the lead role of Aladdin.
This isn't a whole new world for Mitchell. He's been in lots of plays and loves doing everything from costumes, to lighting, to singing and dancing.
" There's a lot of work that goes into it. A lot of fun, but a lot of frustration, too. So hopefully he can keep his positive attitude and continue on and make each show a little bit better," said Kevin Chasse, Mitchell's dad.
" I always want to stick with theater," said Mitchell Chasse.
For Mitchell, this is just the beginning, of a hopefully magical journey.
You have three chances to catch Aladdin Junior at the Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft.
The first show is Friday August 3rd at 6pm. Saturday you can see the show at 1pm and 6pm.
Admission is by donation.
