Westbrook Woman Pleads Guilty to Bank Robbery Charges

Portland - A Maine woman from Westbrook has pleaded guilty to bank robbery charges.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Maria Mattson pleaded guilty in federal court in Portland on Wednesday to aiding and abetting bank robbery, conspiracy to commit bank robbery and interference with commerce by robbery.

According to court records, Mattson was the getaway driver in robberies at a Cumberland Farms store in Portland and at banks in Portland, Windham and Lewiston last winter. The man she is accused of driving to those robberies has pleaded not guilty to four counts of bank robbery, interference with commerce by robbery and conspiracy to commit bank robbery.

A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
