Maine Lobster Festival Celebrates 65 Years

3

Rockland - The Maine Lobster Festival celebrates 65 years this year.

We were there Tuesday afternoon as organizers put the finishing touches on this year's event.

The festival attracts thousands to Rockland Harbor every year.

With this season's low lobster prices, organizers are hoping they sell enough of the of the crustacean to have an impact on the market.

"We're here and we understand what they're going through. It's really too bad because lobster is such a valuable product. It should be recognized that way," said Tim Carroll, President of the festival.

The maine lobster festival kicks off Wednesday at noon.

Sunday is Hometown Day where admission is free.
