Monroe -
A Fairfield man was killed Tuesday afternoon when authorities say he lost control of his motorcycle.
It happened just after 2 o'clock on Route 141 in Monroe.
According to Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton with the Waldo County Sheriff's Department, John Williams, 65, lost control of his bike near the intersection of Routes 141 and 139.
We're told he was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle.
Trafton say it appears Williams wasn't familiar with the area, and didn't realize he was coming to an intersection.
The investigation continues.
