Several Maine business leaders are defending independent Senate Angus King against television attack ads calling him the "King of Spending."
The ads are sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
The Washington D. C. based chamber endorses republican candidate Charlie Summers to fill the seat being vacated by Senator Olympia Snowe.
Monday, several Maine business leaders held a news conference to debunk the ads.
Hancock Lumber President Kevin Hancock says King has a strong pro-business track record.
