A new poster is getting the word out about Maine's ban on out-of-state firewood.
The image was created by Kalyn Van Valkenburgh, a student who recently graduated from Erskine Academy and the Capital Area Technical Center in Augusta.
The new Maine Forest Service poster features a "bugmobile", which serves as a reminder that out-of-state firewood can carry unwanted insects into Maine.
Those bugs can be dangerous to our state's ecosystem.
the poster will soon be on display in local and state parks, campgrounds, and boat ramps.
