Bangor -
Making movies is nothing new for Jacob Caron.
" Ever since I was 5 or 6 I had my own little camera and would go out and make movies with my friends," explained Caron.
Fast forward more than a decade and he's still making movies with his friends.
" Within a day I got together as many friends as I could and put together a story," said Caron, as he explained how he made a movie in only two weeks.
Jacob entered his film, "Freedom of the Press", in the Maine Student Film and Video Festival.
" I was just hoping to get it in there, maybe get it screened as a finalist, maybe one of the top awards or something," said Caron.
" Freedom of the Press", took home the grand prize.
It's about a young journalist, sent to investigate the mob. The journalist gets a little too involved, and becomes the mobs number one target.
" Through it all he uses his wit to still pursue truth throughout the whole thing," said Caron.
Jacob has big plans for his future.
" If I could make something happen coming up that's even at a higher level, that would be wonderful," said Caron.
He's already made another film and is working on a feature length movie.
