Lincoln -
A relatively quiet stretch of Enfield Road in Lincoln was the backdrop for an entirely different scene Wednesday night, one described as a family feud turned violent, by Lincoln Police Chief William Lawrence.
"Very chaotic for officers when they arrived here. They found multiple people there screaming that there had been a stabbing," said Lawrence.
When officers arrived outside a home around 11:00 p.m., they found three people stabbed. Lawrence said, "Basically, they were bleeding profusely."
According to the police chief, the victims were fallout from a family fight between the people who live at the home and the two alleged attackers, Walter Cote III, 42, and his girlfriend Andrea Carlow, 21, who are both charged with aggravated assault.
"The two suspects were walking by the residence because they live down the road and there was some sort of altercation at that residence," said Lawrence.
A woman who lives at the home police were called to told TV5 she is a cousin of Carlow's, but would not give her name. She said Carlow came to the home to hash out a disagreement and asked that she come outside.
According to her, she and her friends all went to meet Carlow on the sidewalk, and when they were close, Cote and Carlow attacked, stabbing her three friends.
Two of the victims were taken to nearby Penobscot Valley Hospital. One has already been treated, and the other is expected to be released soon.
Both Cote and Carlow were arrested shortly after the incident and taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where they remained Thursday. They are due in court Friday.
