City Agrees to Five Year Deal with Folk Festival, Waterfront Concerts

3

Bangor - The Bangor waterfront will continue to rock for at least five more years.

Monday night, Bangor City Council agreed to a five year deal with the American Folk Festival and the Waterfront Concert Series.

Councilors say the decision has secured Bangor as the up-and-coming entertainment venue in the state.

" Every day people remind us of how important it is to have the opportunity to have this entertainment. The jobs it brings, the economic stimulus, the restaurants, the hotels. Everybody is very, very happy to see Bangor alive," said James Gallant, a Bangor city councilor.

The other festival that hits Bangor's waterfront, KahBang, has not reached a long-term deal with the city yet, but there are ongoing discussions.
