Yard Sale to Support Alzheimers Research

Hermon - During the summer months, many people have yard sales to get rid of the old to make room for the new.

But for one Hermon woman, her yard sale is for a good cause.

Four months ago, Beth Towers mother died from Alzheimer’s.

And a few years before that, she lost her grandmother to the disease as well.

She wants to make people aware of the illness and get people involved.

With more people involved, the closer we are to a cure, which is what Towers is hoping for, since many people in her life were taken too soon.

Towers says you can wear purple to support the event.

All of the proceeds from her yard sale will go towards the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in October.

You can stop by 2616 Union St. in Hermon from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Their goal is to raise $2,500 for the cause.
