Bar Harbor -
Bar Harbor is a favorite summer destination for tourists, and this summer it's no different.
"People are out hiking and biking in the town enjoying themselves and we couldn't be more pleased about that," said Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chris Fogg.
But what is different is two new businesses downtown. It's hard to miss the West Street Hotel and Paddy's Irish Pub, which share owners. They just opened a few weeks ago.
"People have been walking by, locals that have seen it kind of from the ground up have just been coming in to check it out and they absolutely love it," said Sabrina Heffner, Front Office Manager at West Street Hotel.
There was some concern among locals that the new businesses might change things in town, but Fogg said that change is good.
"I think it's going to help all of the businesses in town, because it's a big property and they're going to need to market that property, I think that will help rise all boats down in that area," he said.
Heffner said their design team tried to stay true to Bar Harbor's feel, both inside and out.
"We have the locals here that take pride in where they live, we have the visitors that come back every season, we wanted to tailor this to their satisfaction," she said.
If nothing else, providing one more place to enjoy Bar Harbor's sights and sounds.
