The first round of the 2012 Greater Bangor Open teeing off.
Defending champion Jesse Speirs from Memphis, Tennessee, trying to repeat this year. His approach to the 9th green just trickles onto the green. He'd par the hole. Speirs finishing at two-over today.
Tom Caron of Bangor playing in the tourney for the first time. He says this was on his bucket list, so he's giving it a shot. On 15, he makes a solid putt to save par. Caron's at plus-seven.
1997 champ John Hickson was out there today. He's from Ttopsham and his second shot on nine lands on the big part of the green. He'd par the hole. Hickson is at plus-three.
Your leader after round one, coming in during the afternoon, is Jon McClean at four-under.
