Waterville -
A plan to build a new police station in Waterville at Head of Falls may come to a halt soon.
City councilors are expected to vote Tuesday night on a new site for the station, at Colby Circle.
The council decided earlier this year to build on the city-owned property off Front Street. But the idea generated some public opposition.
So one of the councilors proposed voiding the vote for the Head of Falls site and choosing a new one.
If they decide to go forward with the Colby Circle location, the city will have to buy the land first.
Estimates to build at the Head of Falls are between $3.2 and $3.4 million dollars.
City manager Mike Roy says moving forward with the Colby Circle location will cost a minimum of $35,000 more.
It would also push back the September start time for construction.
