Runners Brave The Heat For Danforth's To Dysart's 5K Road Race

3

Hermon - Well, no matter what how you want to say it, we all know...it was really hot outside today! But that didn't stop a group of runners in Hermon, who got up bright and early to get in a little workout. The 7th Annual Danforth's To Dysart's 5K Road Race starting at Hermon High School, across from Danforth's market. The event was organized by the Hawks athletic department, and all the money raised going toward Hermon's cross country team. There was an interesting twist to this race, an interesting division of runners, if you will. They call it the Blueberry Pie Challenge! Three brave athletes woofed down a piece of pie at the two-mile water station and had to run the last mile with it sitting in their stomach. That's quite the test!
But those competitors and everyone who ran survived the heat today, and had a great time. Here's a couple of the winners after the race.
