Waterville -
A movie set to premiere in Waterville next week will feature the work of a group of filmmakers from Fairfield.
The Eighteenth Hour is the brainchild of writer and director, Damian Veilleux.
The movie, which is about a regular teenage boy who creates an imaginary world in which he's a hero, is based on a short story Veilleux wrote when as a teenager.
For the last three years, he and his crew members have worked tirelessly, even dipping into their own savings, to bring the story to life.
"All the money came out of our own pocket. It was myself and my crew ended up financing the thing, and there was was help by everyone that was involved. Maybe not financing, but the fact they didn't burden us with finances. Every one of our actors and crew worked for free. Some of these people were driving from two hours away to make a shoot," said Veilleux.
The movie will premiere in the Maine International Film Festival Wednesday, July 18 at 9:30 p.m. at the Waterville Opera House.
