Dover-Foxcroft -
The Attorney General's Office says a state trooper who shot and killed a man in Dover-Foxcroft in November was justified.
Police say 46-year-old Michael Curtis, a dispatcher for the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department, went to the Hilltop Manor Nursing Home and shot and killed his wife's ex-husband, 53-year old Udo Schneider.
After fleeing in his pick-up, Curtis was shot dead by State Trooper Jon Brown at the county fairgrounds.
The report says Brown told Curtis to show his hands and Curtis did not comply.
The report also says Trooper Brown fired at Curtis without realizing Curtis was speaking with the sheriff on a different radio channel.
Brown shot as the sheriff was approaching Curtis.
The A-G says Brown's actions were justified because he felt the sheriff was under imminent threat.
