Patten -
Patten is dealing with major flood damage caused by rainstorms in late June.
Public Works Director Kevin Noyes said it will cost around $417,000 to bring things back to the way they were.
On Thursday, a member of Senator Collins' staff was in town to take a look at the damage and report back to the senator.
At four different locations, the water carried culvert pipes out of the ground and caused the roads to crumble.
"We got six inches of rain in about 20 minutes and it was like a flash. Just walls of water coming down these brooks bringing anything that was in the brooks, beaver dams, trees, you name it, come down and it just overpowered every culvert we had," said Noyes.
He said that $400,000 is close to half of the department's annual budget. Noyes said the town hopes to find the money to start working on road repairs next week.
