Two people from California who have been staying in Monroe are accused of breaking into a home and several vehicles.
Police say Paul Munster, 37, and Laura Petty were charged after a detective went to a Stream Road home to investigate a home break-in in Swanville.
Police say they found Munster and Petty in the woods and a police dog alerted on their tracks near the home.
Munster and Petty were arrested for car burglaries in the Searsmont area.
Police say a search turned up items missing from the Swanville residence, as well as identification, mail and credit cars from people in Waldo and Penobscot counties.
They're both in jail in Wiscasset.
