Milbridge -
Officials at the Washington County Sheriff's Office say a 21-year old man was killed Saturday night in a single car crash in Milbridge.
Jared Dorr of Milbridge was pronounced dead at Eastern Maine Medical Center following the accident on Wyman Road.
Police say Dorr and two others, Owen Fickett, 25, of Cherryfield and Jason Redimarker, 20, of Addison, were headed north along the road around 7:00 p.m. when they veered off course and crashed into a tree. Upon impact, their pickup truck rolled over, and Dorr was ejected and then trapped underneath. Police say witnesses who stopped to help were able to pull Dorr out, and all three were taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth.
Dorr was then taken by LifeFlight to EMMC, but died in the emergency room. Redimarker was also transferred to the Bangor hospital, where he remained Sunday. Fickett was treated and released from MCMH.
Authorities say the three men were traveling in a 2004 GMC pickup truck, but have not yet identified who was driving. They say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, and it doesn't appear that anyone was wearing a seatbelt.
