3

Newport - Just days after the news broke about her reported arrest for OUI, Nokomis High School girls basketball and girls soccer coach Kori Dionne is stepping down from her posts.

Dionne had been the coach of Warriors girls basketball since 2008. She led the program to three straight Eastern Maine Class B title games. She was reportedly found by police asleep behind the wheel and slumped over in a running car in Bangor on June 8th.

Today, her attorney, Joshua Tardy, releasing a statement saying...

"Ms. Dionne is truly remorseful for any embarrassment and distractions she has caused to her players, Nokomis High School, and the community. She believes strongly that as a coach and role model, she needs to accept consequences for inappropriate actions. She further believes that her decision to resign, although heart wrenching for her, serves the best interests of the programs that she is proud to have led."
