Teenager Pulled From Sebec River After Going Over Dam

Sebec - The Maine Warden Service says a 17-year-old boy was rescued from the Sebec River Friday afternoon.

We’re told the boy was swimming in Sebec Lake when high water and a strong current took him over Sebec Lake dam and into the Sebec River.

The current was so strong, it tore off his clothes and prevented him from swimming to safety. Fortunately, was able to cling to a concrete abutment in the middle of the river until a game warden and members of Sebec Fire and Rescue were able to throw him a life line.

The boy was pulled to shore where he was treated for minor injuries.
