Environment Maine Receives Support for EPA Proposal

Environment Maine says it has received record numbers of support for the EPA's proposal to urge new power plants to limit industrial carbon pollution.

The group says of the more than 2 million comments collected over the past 11 weeks, more than 15,000 came from Mainers.

Environment Maine says the proposal will curb the effects of global warming.

Ben Seel with Environment Maine says it's extremely critical for it to get passed.
The tally is the largest number of comments ever submitted to EPA during a public comment period.
