Downtown Bangor Shop Robbed, Community Rallies in Support

3

Bangor - The owners of the Sweetest Thing shop in downtown Bangor woke up to some not so sweet news Thursday morning.

Their weddings, events and floral designs business was broken into overnight. Co-owner Amber Small said the robber broke the dead bolt off the back door and busted in.

The thief got away with some technology that is essential to running their business.

"We run a really high tech store, so everything we own is run on iPads, iPhones and our Mac computers. So they took about $4,000 of equipment that we use to run our store and then also all of our cash from our cash box," explained Small.

She said they'll have to replace the equipment on their own dime, but the downtown Bangor community is helping them out. Small said she is amazed by the support the shop has received.

An online fundraising effort is set up to raise the $4,000 Sweetest Thing lost in equipment. If you'd like to donate, click here.
