Court Records Show Man Involved in Jackman Shootout Faced Domestic Violence Charges Earlier This Year

Jackman - Court records show the Maine man who died in a shootout with border patrol agents at a home in Jackman over the weekend had faced domestic violence charges earlier this year, but reached a plea agreement in that case.

Authorities said 75-year-old Charles Robinson died from a gunshot wound to the chest Saturday after opening fire on agents who were assisting the sheriff's department on a domestic disturbance call.

One of the agents was hit by shotgun pellets, but his injuries were said to be superficial. The incident remains under investigation.

According to the court records, state police arrested Robinson in March on a domestic violence charge involving a woman.

Robinson later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and was ordered to serve 12 hours in prison.
