One Person Killed in Brownville Storm


Brownville - They damage caused by heavy rain in Brownville Saturday night is to blame for the death of a local man early Sunday Morning, according to officials at the Piscataquis County Sheriff's office.

Police say Charles Bromiley was driving along Pleasant River Road when he came upon a 15 foot drop off, which was caused by a severe thunderstorm that had hit the area just hours earlier. They believe Bromiley couldn't tell the road had been washed away and drove over the edge. Police officials could not confirm Bromiley's age.

The storm destroyed portions of several roads in the community. Drivers are advised to stay clear of the following:

Stickney Hill Road

Williamsburg Road

Lake View Road

Church Street

High Street

Upper and lower Quarry Avenue
